The SAP system-lifecycle workspace
Your SAP system,
finally understood.
werk maps every configuration and line of custom code in your SAP landscape — and gives every team AI agents that understand it, act on it, and learn from it. Your data stays on your machines.
Free desktop app · macOS & Windows · Read-only by default · Works offline
01 — The reality
Your SAP system runs on knowledge that lives in people’s heads. When they leave, it leaves with them.
Tribal know-how, half-finished documentation, changes nobody can fully explain. werk captures it — and turns it into a shared, living understanding of your system before it walks out the door.
02 — What werk does
An institutional memory for your landscape — and a copilot that acts on it.
-
01
A living map of your whole system
Every configuration, custom program, and data flow — indexed and connected. Ask anything about your system; every answer links back to its source.
-
02
Documentation that writes itself
Process maps, configuration catalogs, and module handbooks that stay current as your system changes. No more documentation rot.
-
03
Change with confidence
Read-only by default. Every change runs through an audited, reversible lifecycle — so nothing happens in the dark.
-
04
Yours, alone
Local-first and offline by design. Fits air-gapped and regulated landscapes. Your system knowledge never leaves your infrastructure.
03 — What changes for your teams
Less hero-worship. Fewer surprises.
-
Onboard in days, not months
New consultants and developers ramp against a complete, explained system instead of someone’s memory.
-
Lose the key-person dependency
The system’s knowledge lives in a shared, queryable place — not in one indispensable person.
-
Audit-ready by default
Every fact is traceable to its source. Every change is logged. Compliance becomes a byproduct, not a project.
-
Safer changes, fewer surprises
See impact and drift across development, QA, and production before you move a single transport.
04 — AI that does the work
Not a chatbot. Agents that know your system — and get to work.
werk’s agents are grounded in your system’s living map. They investigate issues, propose changes, run the tests, and remember what worked — always under your supervision, within boundaries you set.
-
01
Understand
Every agent starts from a complete picture of your configuration, code, and history — never from a guess.
-
02
Act
They investigate, draft fixes, and run checks. Real work — not just suggestions in a chat window.
-
03
Verify
Changes are tested and validated before they ever touch your SAP system.
-
04
Learn
Every successful fix becomes a reusable skill your whole team inherits.
Ships with purpose-built agents for every SAP role — plus a growing library of skills learned from your team’s own fixes. The system gets smarter, and onboarding gets faster, every day.
05 — Built for every SAP role
One shared understanding. Many lenses.
- Functional consultants
- Solution & technical architects
- ABAP developers
- Basis & system administrators
- Security & authorizations
- Project & delivery leads
- Testers & QA
06 — Security & sovereignty
Built for the way enterprises actually run SAP.
-
Your data stays on your machines
Local-first by design. Nothing is sent to the cloud unless you choose it.
-
Read-only by default
The product observes far more than it touches. Writes are opt-in, scoped, and guarded.
-
Every action, audited
Changes move through a controlled, reversible lifecycle with a clear trail.
-
Bring your own model
Choose the AI model that fits your rules — a hosted one, or one running entirely on your own hardware. Your choice, your perimeter.
-
AI access, governed
Every agent works under role-based permissions and your safety policies. It sees and touches only what you allow.
-
Fits your network
Works behind corporate firewalls and in air-gapped environments.
07 — Questions, answered
The questions every SAP team asks first.
Does werk need access to my production system?
No. werk is read-only by default and connects to your SAP landscape over standard ADT / OData interfaces. It indexes configurations and custom code into a local mirror and never writes anything back unless you explicitly opt in — scoped, guarded, and through an audited lifecycle.
Where does my data live?
On your machines. werk is local-first: the index, the twin, and the generated documentation all live in your own gitignored workspace. Nothing is sent to the cloud unless you choose it, which makes it fit for air-gapped and regulated environments.
Can I use my own AI model?
Yes. Bring any hosted model, or run one entirely on your own hardware. werk is model-agnostic — your choice, your perimeter. Every agent works under the role-based permissions and safety policies you already enforce.
Which SAP releases are supported?
werk auto-detects the release and installed components of each system it connects to and adapts its indexing accordingly. It crawls customizing (Z/Y objects), custom development, enhancements, and CDS/RAP artifacts — with SHA-256 change detection so re-indexing is incremental, not a full re-scan.
How long does an index take?
The first crawl builds a complete baseline; afterwards werk detects changes by hash and timestamp, so re-indexing only touches what moved. The result is a queryable, provenance-linked twin you can diff across systems in seconds — offline, after the initial index.
Is this a chatbot?
No. werk ships purpose-built agents that understand, act, verify, and learn. They investigate real issues, propose changes, run the checks, and turn every successful fix into a reusable skill your whole team inherits — always under your supervision and within boundaries you set.
